Description
Coyote AmpliDude is a DirectX plugin that
implements high-quality amplitude modulation effects. Advanced audio processing
algorithms produce a very clean output, free of artifacts.
Some of the
unique features of the Coyote AmpliDude are:
- Sine, triangle-wave and
rectangle-wave low-frequency oscillator (LFO)
- Duty-cycle control for
the rectangle-wave LFO option
- Randomized option for
the LFO, for a more natural, less mechanical sound
- Built-in filters to
allow amplitude modulation of specific ranges of frequencies
- Tap-tempo button for
easily matching the tremolo rate to the beat of the song
- Handles professional
audio formats, including 16-bit, 24-bit and floating-point, at up to 192 KHz
sampling rate
- Supports
presets
- Clipping
indicator
Coyote AmpliDude should
be compatible with any audio application that accepts DirectX plugins. It has
been tested with several of the more popular applications.
Have a look
at a screen shot:

Tremolo
By setting the LFO Type to Sine, a tremolo effect similar
to that found in vintage amps and stomp-pedals is achieved. The LFO Rate, and
Depth can be adjusted to obtain a wide variation in the effect, from a gentle
oscillation, up to a rapid pulsation.
Auto-panning
Setting the Stereo button to Invert results in the left and right channels of a
stereo signal being increased and decreased in amplitude in opposition to each
other, which causes the sound to seem to sweep from left to right and back.
Using the filter to control the range of frequencies which is swept can result
in some subtle or wild effects, not available in any other plugin we know
of.
Stuttering
Setting
the LFO Type button to Rectangle results the amplitude suddenly switching
between a high value and a low value. If you set the depth high enough, the
audio will actually cut out periodically. Use the Duty Cycle slider to control
the ratio between the "on" and "off" times. Again, the Filter control can
produce some really unique sounds!
Reviews
PCRecording.com recently reviewed AmpliDude
and had this to say: "...AmpliDude does produce some interesting
effect...Coyote has put together a set of effects that are easy to use and
understand". Read the whole review
