Description
Coyote Chorus is a DirectX plugin that implements
high-quality chorusing and flanging effects. It uses 4 semi-independent delay
line blocks to produce a very rich and full sound. Advanced audio processing
algorithms produce a very clean output, free of artifacts.
Some of the
unique features of the Coyote Chorus are:
- Four stereo
chorus/flange blocks
- Sine and triangle-wave
low-frequency oscillator (LFO)
- Randomized option for
the LFO, for a more natural, less mechanical sound
- Built-in filters to
allow chorus/flange of specific ranges of frequencies
- Handles professional
audio formats, including 16-bit, 24-bit and floating-point, at up to 192 KHz
sampling rate
- Supports
presets
- Clipping
indicator
Coyote Chorus should be
compatible with any audio application that accepts DirectX plugins. It has been
tested with several of the more popular applications.

Chorusing
By
setting the delay parameter somewhere in the range of 10-30 ms on any of the
delay lines, a chorusing (or doubling) effect is achieved. The Delay Range, LFO
Type and Rate, and Output Level can be adjusted to obtain a wide variation in
the effect, from a subtle addition of richness, all the way to a weird detuning
effect. LFO phase inversion can also be utilized to enhance the stereo
image.
Flanging
Setting
the delay parameter to values under about 10 ms results in a flanging effect
(sweeping resonance peaks and notches). Feedback can be adjusted from -99% to
+99% to control the width of the resonance peaks, allowing a wide range of
sounds, from organic to metallic.
You can also "offset" the peaks and
notches if desired, to cause them to fall on non-harmonically-related intervals
(as analog phasers used to do).
